4.1. At the discretion of the Board of Directors, the Foundation shall award scholarships including but not limited to:
4.1.1 Donald M. Furbush, CPM®, Scholarship for up to three CPM courses or exams.
4.1.2 Bette Fears, ARM®, Scholarship for up to three ARM courses or exams.
4.1.3 Paul H. Rittle, Sr., Memorial Scholarship for up to three ACoM courses or exams.
4.1.4 New England Past President’s Scholarship for IREM members within Region 1, for up to three ACoM, ARM, or CPM certification courses or exams.
4.1.5 Diversity Scholarship for IREM members from underrepresented groups, for up to three ACoM, ARM, or CPM certification courses or exams, BDM603, or CPM Fast Track fee.
4.1.6 Robert K. and Gladys M. Beal Legacy Scholarship for IREM chapter volunteers who have successfully utilized a previous IREM Foundation scholarship, for up to three ARM or CPM certification courses or exams.
4.1.7 Eugene J. Burger, CPM®, Scholarship for IREM members and non-members who are employed by non-profit housing providers for the ARM certification courses and exam.
4.2 To receive a scholarship, the individual must submit the IREM Foundation Scholarship application, and at the time of application, must:
4.2.1 Be an IREM member in good standing with IREM dues paid in full, or an employee of an AMO firm, unless otherwise specified in section 4.1.
4.2.2 Express intent to pursue an IREM certification.
4.3 Selection of recipients is based on the following factors, but not limited to:
4.3.1 Scholarship funds available at the time the application is received.
4.3.1.1 In the event that the number of scholarship requests exceeds funding available, priority shall be given to those who have not been awarded a scholarship in the previous 12 months.
4.3.2 Demonstrated commitment to a career in real estate management.
4.3.3 Participation in IREM chapter.
4.3.4 Previous scholarships awarded and activated, including any that have expired.
4.3.4.1 Recipients who do not activate a scholarship within the timeframe noted in 4.4.1, shall not be eligible to receive another scholarship until one year from the date the previous scholarship was awarded, except when a serious medical, or immediate personal/professional/family impediment can be verified. 4.3.4.2 Recipients who do not complete a course, or do not provide notification to IREM of course cancellation in line with IREM’s cancelation policy, or who fail the course(s) or exam(s) funded by a scholarship shall not be eligible to receive another scholarship until one year from the date the previous scholarship was awarded, except when a serious medical, or immediate personal/professional/family impediment can be verified.
4.4 Each scholarship awarded covers 75% of the member tuition rate for up to three IREM certification courses or exams, as requested on the application.
4.4.1 To activate a scholarship, recipients must register for their course(s) or exam(s) within one month from the date the scholarship is awarded.
4.4.2 No extensions will be granted.
4.4.3 Scholarship funds can only be applied by registering through the IREM Foundation; no reimbursements will be offered for previous courses.
4.4.4 Scholarship funds can only be applied by registering in the manner as outlined in the scholarship awarded notification. No reimbursements will be offered for previous courses.
4.5 Recipients may apply for another scholarship once any current scholarship funding is exhausted or expired, and selection will be based upon factors outlined in 4.3.
